Lunch Time

Ever wonder what to eat at lunch time? If you are working, you have to take your lunch outside. If you have been working at a place for more than 3 years, you will find it very boring to take lunch. Same food everyday. Even for those who are lucky enough to work in at a place full of eateries, you will get sien sooner or later. For those who work at places away from eateries, the situation is even worse. However, we have to eat to replenquish our energy to continue our work for the rest of the day. Some resorted to skipping lunch on and off depending on mood. Well for me, I can't! I can only skip lunch if I have a heavy breakfast which I seldom experienced. For my lunch time, I usually frequent a coffee shop known as Lucky Restaurant. Over there, there is the ready made home cooked meal with a variety of dishes to go with the rice. No fancy dishes, mostly common dishes you will find at a Chinese home. It is fairly reasonable with prices ranging from RM2.60 to RM5/- depending on the type of dishes you have ordered with the plate of rice. If you are early for lunch, you can get a bowl of soup for free. The other choice is ordering on the spot type of food like, fried rice, koay teow soup with fish balls, "kung poh" chicken rice, "wat tan hor", etc. These type of food are more expensive as they are specially prepared for you on your request.
As for me yesterday, I have a different type of food for lunch. Went to a property exhibition at Stadium Indera Mulia to check out the new houses in the market. Had lunch at a stall near Stadium Perak. Had Banana leaf Curry for lunch! Yeah! Picked masala chicken! Very tasty. One of the best banana leaf curry in Ipoh town. The curry is excellent! But it is quite warm eating there. No air-con le! It was a bit crowded when we reached that stall. So many customers until we have to do some self service like helping ourselves to the vegetables there and pouring the delicious curry on to our rice. Iced chinese tea is served free of charge here. We had hot teh tarik with little sugar after that. Was a satisfying lunch for me. Was sweating due to the heat there and the effect of the tasty curry. Most people in Ipoh knows about this banana leaf stall. The cost is about RM6/- per person nowadays. If you ever come to Ipoh, try it out! You'll love it! :)
